MICHAEL McCLURE read his poems at the first Beat Poetry event where Allen Ginsberg read "Howl". He is an Obie award-winning playwright with Josephine the Mouse Singer and his controversial play The Beard was arrested by the L.A. Police fourteen nights in a row. McClure's musical sources range from Thelonious Monk and Miles Davis to the rock with which his poetry frequently shares a bill. McClure's published works stretch from early novels to the recent book of poems Rebel Lions. RAY MANZAREK played keyboards with The Doors. He has recorded several albums including The Golden Scarab, a jazz/ rock cycle with Tony Williams and Larry Carlton, and a collaboration with Philip Glass of Carl Orff"s Carmina Burana. He was the producer of the punk rock group X. Manzarek directed videos of The Doors; Live at Hollywood Bowl, The Doors: Dance on Fire, and The Doors: Soft Parade. The Spoken Word   Here's a sample...
